My name is Gerard L. de Beauvoir. This is a true story about my life with the dentist at the age of 22.I went to a dentist, and he filed my lower left bottom tooth, and he filed it so short because he said I had a cavity. Then he showed it to me and told me he had to pull it because it was too small and I believed him.Later, I found out he could have replaced it with a crown. Then when I was 32, I had a dentist that was going to clean my teeth and fix a filling. He gave me a shot in my gums to numb it and four hours later; I got a bit Boyle on the inside of my mouth.I went back to the doctor five months later because by this time we were moving.I found out that this tooth was rotted and the dentist told me he had to pull it.So here I was with two Jaw teeth missing on the same side, one on top and the other on the bottom. I have tried in all these years to get my teeth fixed but the Insurance Company would not cover my teeth because it was done before I got my Dental insurance and was way too expensive for me to pay for two bridges.

I am now 56 years old, a senior and a member of AARP.I have spent all these years with two missing teeth on my left side.I have had my Dental Insurance but yet it was so expensive.I could not afford to have my teeth fixed in the United States of America.I even went to the Veterans Administration and asked about my teeth and they said, “All they could do was to pull teeth”, because I was not 100% disabled. I had spent the last 35 years not being able to promptly chew my food; I reminded myself that there was a time. I even had Medi-Cal and I was always told that Medi-Cal would not cover bridges on my teeth. These particular dentists gave me the feeling that they were always in a hurry. My allotted time for the appointment was very limited regardless if my teeth had to be cleaned and even when taking my x-rays.They made me feel that there was no personal care for us as patients. At one instance, I had some fillings done and I asked if they could put porcelain versus the silver, and they told me that the insurance would not cover it because it was considered cosmetic. If I decided to do this procedure it would be my responsibility.I am convinced that the dentist in America has one thing in his/her mind: Money. They did not personally care on bit about me, as long as they had their money they would provide the cheapest quality of dental work they could get away with.I have other friends that are seniors, they are both American Veterans and they need serious dental work. For example one of them has a rotted tooth and because of this it has turned brown.

I had given up hope.I felt I would spend the rest of my life without my teeth. But my wife works at a Casino in San Diego and we found out that a lot of people would go to Tijuana, Mexico and have their teeth fixed while accepting her Dental Insurance and covering the expenses except for the co-payment.On many other occasions, I had asked other dentist here in San Diego about having my teeth fixed.Since I was on my wife’s dental plan, I still was responsible for the co-payment, and it still was well beyond our reach. My wife encouraged me to go and meet this dentist in Tijuana. I asked myself, what I have to lose.So my wife and I took a trip to see the dentist.I had heard horror stories about dentists and hospitals in Tijuana.I spent my whole life being afraid to go across the border to get any help because of health issues.I had everything to gain if he could help me.

I really thought I was going to wind up in some broken down and dirty dentist office. But I was going to go anyway and get my wife off my back because she was hearing good things about this particular dentist from her co-workers.She told me that her coworkers “loved”and “swear” he does excellent dental work.So I thought I will call the telephone number (619) 308-7082 and was surprised because it was a San Diego area code.I thought this was a joke.Another surprise was when the receptionist answered my call and spoke perfect English.Of course, I immediately scheduled my next dental appointment.

When I arrived to Quality Gentle Dental Care at Luis Cabrera # 1509 Planta Baja at Torre Estrella in Zona Rio, Tijuana, México; I was in total shock. The building was beautiful, very well kept, nicely painted and very clean. So I went to the dentist, they took me into the room an there I met DR. ERICO CARRENO and his assistants.I do not speak Spanish but they all do speak English. They even asked me how I felt and they started to take x-rays.I noticed how gentle the assistants were in my mouth. The assistants were neither in any hurry nor jerking my head around, nor were they jamming the x-ray paper in my mouth.Everything was done exceptionally and very gentle. The old silver fillings that were in my mouth were removed and were filled with the porcelain tooth colored ones.

After a couple of dental visits, they put in a Temporary bridge but I did not know that it was only temporary. When I came home, I was so glad to have a tooth sitting in that socket, even though it did not look perfect. I was very grateful. Two weeks later, I return for my scheduled appointment and this time Dr. Carreno removes the temporary and gives me the most beautiful bridge for my mouth. It looked so real I could not resist smiling. As I looked in the mirror, I was stunned and speechless for the magnificent job that was provided to me.I told Dr. Carreno and his staff that after 35 years, they were the very first ones to actually care and cater to my dental needs. The co-payment was a very small price to pay, for what I – as a patient got in return.I was given the opportunity of seeing myself in the mirror and being very thankful for my beautiful smile. At the moment, I kept saying “thank you” over and over, because I could not find an English word expressing the gratitude and joy in my heart.

I am so glad I listened to my wife and went to Dr. Erico Carreno’s dental office and made my initial appointment. Do not believe all the negative publicity that are given to Tijuana based dentists because you will be surprised of what in reality you can find.Bottom line, above all the talk, YOU should see my teeth. They are BEAUTIFUL!

Thank You, Dr. ERICO CARRENO.I will refer you to everyone I know.

I want to let everyone know that I am very happy with my results.I was never comfortable with my smile EVER, until I visited Dr. Erico Carreno’s dental office.Your staff was friendly and professional and I am grateful for the good work you have done!So many people compliment me on how natural my teeth look (like they were always just perfect), and to me that it is a huge compliment. They do not look like veneers – they look like if I was born with them. The gap I had was always a big insecurity for me, especially being a performer and now, I don’t even have to think about my teeth. Thanks Dr. Carreno!

I will recommend you to all my family and friends and return to you for all of my dental needs.
